Cyber Security Analyst (Software Engineering - R&D)


The Cyber Security Analyst is an integral member of the product development technical team and is responsible for defining and developing industry standard requirements, programs and processes for product development and commercial support. As well as, acts as the research and development representative for the computer security incident response team to provide technical analysis to minimize incident damage, guide response and recovery activities, and prevent the occurrence of future incidents.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct penetration testing in a variety of technical domains including application software, embedded software, hardware platforms, and database platforms.

  • Perform threat modeling and assess risk based vulnerabilities identified during testing.

  • Create information security documentation, technical reports and test findings based on organization and customer needs. Responsible for governance, risk and compliance reviews and assessments.

  • Establish and manage the cyber security risk assessment policies and procedures for post market surveillance of products.

  • Monitor industry news and announcements and US-CERT for events of relevance.

  • Representative for the organization with NH-ISAC and ISAOs.

  • Collaborate with functional peers and other research and development staff to identify solutions for, and resolve issues with, product software.

  • Collaborate across organizational functions to achieve company and product cyber security objectives, and continually improve product performance and capabilities.

  • Provide product technical support to both internal and external customers.

Cyber Security Analyst (Software Engineering - R&D)


As the Cyber Security Analyst, you will develop and maintain detailed documentation for both internal and external customers. In addition, have excellent oral and written communications; ability to multi-task in a fast paced results oriented environment; and strong organizational skills and attention to details are required. Must have the ability to operate independently and exercise good judgement. As well as have excellent analysis, troubleshooting and debugging skills.

Other requirements of the Software Engineer role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 4+ years of cyber security experience preferred in the medical device space, specifically with medical application and instrumentation automation software and healthcare data management systems.

  • Experienced in the application of Identify, Protect, Detect. Respond and Recover framework and FDA guidance for management of cybersecurity in medical devices.

  • Knowledge of industry standards, guidelines and measures such as NIST SP 800, UL 2900, IEC 80001/2, DISA STIGs, CVSS, OWASP.

  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft SQL Server and Web Services.

  • Experience with programming and scripting languages such as C#, C++, javascript and Ajax.

  • Experience with Unix family operating systems a plus.
